Who is My Pastor?

Seth Godin is my pastor because no one cares for their congregation (tribe) more than he does.

Anne Lamott is my pastor because she receives grace better than anyone I’ve ever seen. (I’m sure she’s just as adept at giving out grace as well.)

Jason Upton is my pastor because he allows me to see God in a way that is not inherent to my spiritual make-up.

Cynthia Ware is my pastor because she is constantly striving to seek better ways to communicate God’s word to a waiting and weary world.

Mike Housholder is my pastor because I hear him skillfully unpack God’s word each and every week.

Kristin Anderson is my pastor because she truly cares about the lives of the people under her care. A pastor to pastors, is what she would say (and I would agree).

Jeff Hanson is my pastor because, well, he’s had more impact on my spiritual life than anyone else.

Who is your pastor and why?

My Pastor is Ptr. Alvin and Ptr. Leo for it was them who nurtured me and taught me to grow in my spiritual life.

My Pastor is Ptr. Malou because it’s her who encourages me now to continue and go on!

Paul Stewart in the local church, leading courageously.
Dan Berry for giving me a chance, training me, and blessing my departure
Ben Arment for giving me permission, and advising me to settle for nothing less that the dream God has placed in my heart.
My wife, Amanda, who shows me what strength and grace look like everyday.
My grandfather who taught me about the saving grace of Christ as a young child, and instillef a belief that God answers prayers and changes lives.

Jeremiah 3:15 states, “Then I will give you shepherds after My own heart, who will feed you on knowledge and understanding” (NASB).

When I look at my pastors, they are people who have invested time and energy into my spiritual life. They are also leaders, ones who model how to lead a congregation and a family. But most of all, they are people who are further along in their spiritual walk than I was at that point in time when I was privileged enough to call them pastor.

I think it cheapens the role or title of “pastor” when the term is used to describe all people who have had an impact in your life. Does it mean that no one can have an impact besides a pastor? Absolutely not! But does that mean that everyone is a pastor? Not at all.

Jay … It seems as though you’re suggesting that the people who I consider pastors don’t count somehow. Am I reading you correctly?

Looks like Jeremiah writes “shepherdS.” Plural.
