God is teaching me to keep my feet firmly on the ground, but always dream of the possibilities…

Yes. Structured dreaming. Sanctified guessing. Ordered chaos. Amen.

God is teaching me to live in the tension of someone loving you and being upset with you, rather than trying to make sure everyone is never upset with you because you're scared of losing love.

God is teaching me that I'm not as "spiritually ignorant" as I believed. Though I'm no bible scholar, God has given me his Holy Spirit and through Him I have the tools I need to witness, encourage, or even counsel to some degree others.

God is teaching me to give second chances, and he also is teaching me that I can do ministry different.

What's different? How are you doing things in a new way?

I'm learning that as much as it sucks, going through mentally and emotionally tough times are necessary in order to learn and grow into a more mature being. When Lewis and Clark reached the beginning of the rocky mountains, I'm sure they wanted to throw up from being so misled about reaching the coast. What did they do? Kept going. Time moves forward. Bold and calculated.

God is teaching me to SEE people, not as I see them, but as He sees them…not just with my eyes but with His eyes. Every face is His face, every face is God reflected.

I should mention that it's been a hard lesson to learn, but we're working on it.

God is teaching me to become a person of prayer. It's the one thing that can't be taken away from us in this life.

    • Justin Wise June 29, 2009 at 1:57 am #

Someone once told me that the only thing that people are defenseless against is our prayers. Heavy.

God is teaching you to expand your imagination? Could you elaborate… I guess I don't understand how or why. With respect, I must say – it seems vague.

God is teaching me that I really do need to sleep and rest

    • Justin Wise June 29, 2009 at 1:58 am #

There's a reason why Jesus says, "Sabbath was created for humanity." Go find a nook in the commons and rest. :)

"Teaching me to … teach." Love that. No better person to learn from, eh?
