What Are You Reading?
I saw this somewhere else and I thought it would be good to try here.
The book I just finished: The Younger Evangelicals by Robert E. Webber
The book I am currently reading: Killing Cockroaches by Tony Morgan
The book I can’t wait to read: The Hidden Power of Electronic Culture by Shane Hipps
I do a lot of talking on this blog (for good reason), but now I want to “turn the tables” and ask you the question:
- What book did you just finish?
- What book are you currently reading?
- What book are you excited to read?
Ready? GO! It’s Monday and BeDeviant.com is all up to you today!

1) What book did you just finish? I don't remember if it was "In a Pit with a Lion on a Snowy Day" by Mark Batterson or "Crazy Love" by Francis Chan.
2) What book are you currently reading? I am close to finishing up "Wild Goose Chase" by Mark Batterson. (Seeing a trend?)
3) What book are you excited to read? I started reading "Dangerous Wonder" by Mike Yaconelli
Yaconelli is so good. He's the soul food of Christian literature. Read "Messy Spirituality" as soon as you can after "Dangerous Wonder"
Yep. I read "Messy Spirituality" a few years ago but never read "Dangerous Wonder." It's too bad his life was cut short. He's a very gifted man…

3. Excited to read: a Mike Erre book – either "Death by Church" or "Jesus of Suburbia"

Justin – is "Younger Evangelicals" a must-read, or simply a good read?
What did you like best about "Choosing to Cheat"?
I hear Phyllis' name all the time… What's she about?
She is very emergent Christianity, but at the same time knows her history. She came into Christian writing from the critic/publisher side, and researched how Christianity is shaped by culture and how culture is shaped by Christianity, and how the world now is in the midst of a paradigm shift of emergent Christianity.
Skye's name bounces around all the time… What's that book about? I hear good things….
From what I've heard, it's really a good challenge on knowing the basics beyond what you see and physically get at church.
Hear it from the man, himself.
