sheesh! Linda, there was no attack made, and things like this deserve to get pondered. That is, after all, the point of a "blog"
Holy Cow Creative and John Maxwell's assistant weighing in, I'd say this was an interesting post topic, Justin :)

I think that shows a lot of integrity on John's part, which is to be expected. Honestly, I think it will end up giving him something stronger. In fact my offer stands, especially in light of this...I'd be happy to help in the redesign of the new cover.

I don't think any harm was intended by asking the question, overall I think asking questions are good. I was actually quite pleased that no one jumped down his (or my) throat and just posed the question without making this an attack.

I find it really sad that you felt it necessary to "blog" your question without 1st having the courtesy to contact John's publisher or staff and have a conversation about the logo.

Why is it that Christian's are so quick to attack other Christian's?

While TN had not seen nor copied the Cultivate logo, they are changing the cover at John's request. I hope you are as quick to post this positive step as you were to post the negative.

I have posted my phone number so that if anyone has a question they can contact me directly. I am John's assistant.

I created the cultivate logo...so let me set the record straight.

We did not, never will use a program that spits out a logo. I'm really surprised that a book of this caliber wouldn't have something more tailored and a designer that really gets into the DNA and the essence of the book.

The logo started on paper and pencil, lots of sketches, lots of ideas. When I was putting this concept into the computer, I remembered a font I had stashed away that I used to create the mark., so an argument could be made that the book's designer did the same thing.

The Cultivate logo has been out there for most of the year but certainly possible that they didn't see it. If it were me, I'd create a new jacket design (people do judge a book by it's cover). So Mr. Maxwell if you're listening...give me a call.

I'm guessing the designers on both teams borrowed from stock...the question is, who paid for the right licensing agreements?
